About software.gallery

A gallery of independent software for Mac, iPhone, iPad and the web: big icons, honest facts, and a link to where each app lives.

What’s here

Apps from independent makers and small studios, for design, drawing, 3D, type, photos, music, writing and work, and the odd game. Each one has a page in the App Store’s shape: its icon and screenshots, what it does, what’s new, and the facts you’d want before you try it.

How an app gets in

Anyone can submit an app. Paste its App Store link or its website and we fill in the name, icon, description and screenshots. You check them and confirm your email, then a person reviews it. Approved apps go up in the gallery. If we decline one, we say why.

What we look for is in the submission guidelines.

Every app links out

Nothing is sold here. Each app links to where it lives: the App Store, its own website, or the maker’s download page. Prices are there as information, from the maker or the store.

Ratings

The stars are the US App Store’s own average and count, labelled and dated, and they are checked again every day. An app shows them once it has at least 5 ratings there. Apps that aren’t on the App Store don’t show a rating yet: ratings from visitors come next.

Who makes it

software.gallery is made by Geoform, a small software studio that also makes Fonting, Mark and Tama. They are in the gallery too, and their pages say Geoform made them.

Icons and screenshots belong to their makers. If an app of yours is here and you’d like something changed, or you’d rather it wasn’t here, write to us and we will sort it out.

Write to mail@software.gallery.
